To give you an idea on how big they are.

On what do these things fly? A jet engine? I have a small movie of an F-16 scale model with a real jet engine, realy cool.

Yes and no....
While you can put a model jet engine in there, most people can't afford that, so they put a dicted fan in there. A ducted fan runs off of a regular 1-cylinder piston model engine, only instead of a propeller, it has a fan attached. Kinda works like a high-bypass turbofan in essence. The egine is mounted internally, so you don't see it, or the fan.

By model jet engine do you mean something like this?

The caption says: Turbine engine of my F-16. RAM 750-F with about 8 kg of thrust.

Another good link on RC F-16 models: http://www.spiderjets.be/

It also says something on how to give the canopy a golden tint.

Hello, my name is Michel Avonds, I am the guy on one of the pictures posted above. The Belgian Air Force model is mine.

Habu is right about the engines, my F-16 has first flown with Ducted Fan power (3.5 kg thrust with a T/O weight of almost 8kg). Now it is powered by that RAM 750 turbine which gives 8.5 kg thrust (I estimate), T/O weight is 11 kg, empty weight is 9 kg, 3 liters of kerosine gives about 9 min flight plus some reserve.
