I need to know if the 55th FS squadron jet 554 has the number on the nosegear door....or if anybody took a picture of it like at Shaw Fest that shows the door clearly.
Thanks,
Scott

| Sorry Scott, but other than the personal Shaw fest pics I sent you I can't go out and take shots for you. I know that it seems silly but using my access to the ramp for a business gets sticky. I can take a look and let you know how it is painted but no pics from the active ramp. I hope someone else took pics during Shaw Fest. Check with Swedge and Mkopack. |

That'd be fine....I just need to know if the vertical number on the front of the gear door is there or not. I have plenty of pictures of what they look like, I just can't tell from the pics that I do have if its there or not. Both the wing COs jet and 353 from the 77th have it. I'm interested if the 55th uses them as well.
Thanks!

Scott, the 55th FS, including 554 did have it on the nose gear. I'm sorry I didn't get a clear shot of that area, it must have slipped my mind. Combined with the fact that most of my shots were from a distance behind ropes. Look at pic 5 that I sent you and zoom in real real close. If you can't see it in the pic I emailed, the high res pic I'm sending in the mail should be better. It's real blurry even on my computer, but right below the cover on the HTS pod and orange taq, you can see the bottom of "4" If I sent you pic 13, it should be clearer in that same area. It would take a lot of zooming, but trust me, it's there.
Also, something I just noticed. When you get pic 12A, zoom in on the canopy rail forward of the name. There seems to be a different canopy number, but I can't make it out. It looks like it's been partially rubbed out, and isn't present on the crew chief's side. |
