Gums explained part of this in another thread; Indicated airspeed at a certain altitude vs. ground speed.
I have looked and looked for some charts but can't find them, so I have to beg here from someone who might know:
Question:
What is the ground speed of a jet traveling at Mach 1.5 at 48,000ft ?
Thank you for anyone that has an answer to that. |

| GS is your TAS corrected for the wind. On the other hand the Mach No is depended on the ambient temperature. Consedering zero wind, and standard day conditions, your GS (see TAS) is 880knots. I attached corresponding charts. Using military software for mission planning, all these calculations are made automatically. |
