The Top Ten Reasons the Thunderbirds Suck
10. The Blue Angels make them look bad.
9. The crowds don't really appreciate the finer points.
8. Nobody can think of anything new to do.
7. Gas prices are getting too high.
6. "An inverted diamond pass at 50 feet?? Not in these shoes!!"
5. They get the show over fast so they can get to the motel with the new narrator.
4. Thunderbird Lead has a monotonous voice that keeps putting them to sleep.
3. It's hard to keep a tight formation while thumbing through the BOLD FACE procedures.
2. F-16's are really expensive to replace.
And the number one reason why the Thunderbirds suck....
1. All the good pilots are flying in Iraq!!! |

Whoa....where did that come from? I thought this was about the F-15 crash at Nellis. If you're a T-bird hater, I'm sure there's a more appropriate place to post than here. |

Agreed with Taco, and if you are gonna post top ten list around here, at least make them funny. Even if I did hate the T-Birds.... nah, the list still ain't funny.

This topic was split off from the Deja Vu: F-15 crashes at Nellis topic. I'm assuming it's meant to be funny?

| There are many people on the Thunderbird team that visit this site, and I know they take pride it what they do. I don't think the list is Funny at all. I think this post should be deleted. This is only my opinion. |

| In regards to #1, I can say fairly confidently that every T-bird flier is a better pilot that you are... Otherwise you wouldn't have bothered saying so. Let us know the next time youre flying inverted 5 feet from 3 other jets going 300+ KIAS |

Top 10? Too bad the only "comedian" he can steal his material from is David Letterman.
I think it's past your bed time kiddo.

| To all the pilots and crew chiefs out there who read threads on this site, keep up the great work. The Thunderbirds are great - and that "top ten" was a pretty sad attempt at comedy. Post somewhere else maddog2840, it's not appreciated here. |

10. Both the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds are great, and not just the performance but every personnel who work their @$$ off 24/7.
9. The only one who doesn't appreciate the finer points is YOU. Speak for yourself.
8. If you're bored of the Tbirds, do them a favor and stay home. Otherwise, send them suggestions of your creative ideas.
7. aww **** it, 7-2, I'm not even going to waste my time, you probably don't even know any of their procedures anyways.
1. Tbirds are active duty pilots, and some, most, if not all have combat experience or have been deployed.
And on that note...I cue the smileyface story.... --> --> --> --> <--you -- everyone else--> THE END. |

Come on guys:
There is something called Freedom of Expression in many countries.
If you do not agree with the top ten reasons please say so but do not start deleting messages.
We do not go anywhere by acting that manner.
I am not associated with maddog2840 or necessarily agree or disagree with the top ten list.
Faithfully yours

Well said, I have to agree with viper here. Freedom of speech is not only publicly advocating that in which you believe, but "acknowledging a man whose words make your blood boil who is standing center stage and advocating at the top of his lungs that which you would spend a lifetime opposing at the top of yours." Thats what americans died to bring forth and continue to sacrifice to protect today.
Well said F-16Viper. I still disagree with the nature of the list, if even in jest.

???
maddog2840, please don't quit your day job. I noticed Stefaan's note about the fact that this was split off the F-15 crash thread and I'm just curious, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING??? Did someone steal your login information? Please tell me that's the case because it's a more comforting thought than someone having stolen your common sense.
Do you know just how hard the entire Thunderbird team works to put on a show? I wonder if you do. I also wonder if you've seen both teams perform. I just saw the Blues back in October and the T-Birds about a month later at Nellis. Guess what - the T-Birds outflew the Blues! Just for clarification, I grew up on the Blues, just about 10 miles away from Miramar and I'm a BIG Blue Angels fan, so don't think I'm just trying to prop up the T-Birds.
Justanothercrewchief, I have to disagree - you're not "just another crew chief" - you put in too many hours and too much hard work for the T-Birds for that !

While it's true that there is Freedom of Expression, there's also something known as manners and something else known as diplomacy. I would compare this site with a favorite watering hole or someone's home and I know I'd appreciate it if people would treat it that way. Discuss whatever you like, but please consider where you are and who's there with you. Think about what you say before you say it and who's around when you do. Would you like it if someone came into your house and started blabbering on with jokes about how Australia was a land founded by convicts and all Aussies are just criminals anyway? I'm not advocating that position, just using it as an example. Same thing would go for someone in a military aviation bar who started expounding about how everyone in the military must love violence and killing - they can have their opinion, they can express it, too. It's just a much better idea to choose a better place to express that at an O' club.
I personally think that post should've been deleted. It wasn't posted in the correct place to begin with (should've been in the off topic section, maybe Air Force Life), it's patently offensive and inflammitory, and it doesn't fit in at all with the general spirit of this site. |
