| Raptor killer; You mentioned bleeding. I assume yal had a bleed air leak. Did you secure it, by closing a bleed-air valve,or did you have to shut down a Motor? You where ina f-15d,,is that pilot,or rio ? Your raptor fight, what was the highest speed during the fight? Was the tailslide controllable? Most jets avoid tailslides, other than su-xx series. Never heard of a f-15 doing a tailslide,,,tell us more about your engagements vs the f/a-22. |

What community do you live in "Raptor Killer"? Your two kills better the official tally on raptor kills. There's only 1 recognized kill and it is a F16, not a F15 that has that distinction. Was it some kind of video game perhaps? Tailslides too? You can see why we have a difficult time with your story, right? Are you a Navy Seal too? JL Raleigh NC |

Fellas,
All of "Raptorkillers" BS was debunked a long time ago. He was publicly flogged and has thankfully disappeared.
As far as an "official tally," I'm assuming you are talking about the number of training kills reported on the F-22. There is no such "official" number, but, I assure you, the number would be greater than one. |

| What you want to look at here is the ratio, how many Raptors shot down vs number of sorties flown. Also, you would want to look at development. As time went on how many were shot down. I guarantee the number would drop significantly with time. The Raptor pilots are learning to use (and abuse) all the fun characteristics of a stealth fighter aircraft. If you want to hear about Raptors being shot down, wait until Red Flag. At Red Flag there is probably the highest probability of someone shooting down a Raptor only because there are so many planes in the sky and you're facing a lot of airborne resources, something *might* spot them. |

Doubt it. Because there is NO way they'd use the F/A-22's full ability. It would have an RCS enhancement device and most likely they wouldn't let them use it's full flight performance either. Because with the enhancement the MKIs WOULD see them and if they're tooling around much higher and faster than generally realized then the cat would be out of the bag. My guess is they'd say "okay you guys are going to be F-15 simulators". |

| Maybe they will add 4 pylons,and 8 external amraams,,,,then 1 f/a can shot 8-9 su's in 1 sortie. |

Im surprised there are even plans to invite F-22s to the next Red Flag. It only makes sense the more you play around with a new strategy; the more the enemy sees it; the more they learn to counter it. Look at the F-117 shoot down. The same strategy (that is ingress/egress) routes were used over and over again with a confidence on the F-117s stealth ability. We stare at Radar screens for so long sometimes we forget that there are simple ways of identifying a jet too; like seeing them with your own eyes. After using visual so many times; they finally found a counter; even if a week one at that; one F-117 was the price...

I'm trying to go back and reread the articles I read in the last month or two and find the one that talked about the 6 or 800 to 1 ratio of kills. I'm pretty sure I didn't make that up, and it was an article and not an anecdote. For me to forget where it is unfortunately isn't all that an uncommon event anymore. JL Raleigh NC |

Actually Pat, I e-mailed him about a week later and received a very generous "your welcome, anytime" from him. I think the biggest issue was some people thought he was coming on here muckraking RaptorKiller and trolling where his business didn't belong. Turns out RaptorKiller was the real fake. How ignorant the internet makes us all.
