| I was just wondering if the NH90 or Eurocopter was any good, since New Zealand plans to buy them. |

| Its planned to be 2009 according to the statement that the minister of defence made mainly due to the eurocopter still needing some development. I think as a transport helicopter it is quite good but I'm trying to find out wha tweapons it has and hwo it would operate as a gun ship. |

The NH-90 is a interesant utility helicopter. Nowadays Spanish Army is going to buy 45 NH-90, so I have looked a lot of information about this helicopter.
The NH-90 is a medium/utility helicopter created to sustitute the UH-1H and other helicopters like Puma. The NH-90 is building in two versions. Tactic soldier transport and another Navy version (similar with SH-60 or EH-101). The max velocity is 298 km/h (similar Black Hawk). The NH-90 also can transport 2.500 Kg, so can carry a light vehicle or a 105 piece of artillery. |

Okay excellent now I don't feel quite so bad about the upgrade. Still will miss the Hueys, but the NH-90's sound just what our decrepid Airforce needs lol. Thanks |

| Pretty much the Nh90 has similar stats to the blackhawk , same top and cruise speed but it can carry an extra 6 to 8 guys (or girls). What i'm more concerned about is how many we are going to get and how many more air force guys are going to be made redundant. |

| MRH90....AUS variant of NH90 ...if we believe the rumours...troop deck dented by minister in high heels(yeah right)....first time diggers from townsville actually USED it with full gear, damaged the floor, (believable), massive turbine failure in one of two...reported in Aus press as fact....not much is being said atm from DOD...but they praise the tiger...sounds like just another major defence buy as usual, give it 5yrs or so and she should be sweet... |
