Well Two, this is the second time I've quoted you with that statement, but D@MN, did you call that or what? Shocked

In case you haven't heard folks, it looks like Moody is returning to ACC!

According to the BRAC recommendations, it appears that the UPT commitment at Moody will be dispersed between Vance, Laughlin, Columbus, and Randolph, and the 23rd FG, "The Flying Tigers", will move from Pope to Moody.

Not sure whether the 347th RW will remain in AFSOC...

Jeez, what will they think of next for Moody? Given their history, it wouldn't surprise me if they brought the B-17 out of retirement, and stood up a wing at Moody. Rolling Eyes

In Valdosta, no one can hear you scream...

I was in the C-130E stand up ceremony, and the closing ceremony at Moody. Also the A-10. Saw an F-4 flying around the other day-- I wonder. At least the A-10 guys will appreciate the sun shelters AETC installed on the ramp. I am screaming -can you hear me? With any luck in 4 years when my kid gets out of school I'm pulling chocks from Valdosta and heading for the Smokies.

Vinnie, was the tail code on that F-4 "TD"? If so, it is one of our airshow birds from Tyndall. The 53rd WEG (our drone squadron) has a couple Phantoms still painted in operational schemes that they fly to different shows. One's painted in Hill 2, and the other is painted in Europe One (used to be in SEA camo, but they unfortunately changed it)

Also, didn't Moody have A-10s previously? I seem to recall Moody being the former home of the A-10 East Coast Demo team.

It was a drone, every now and again I'll hear that noise and if I look real hard I can see a faint smoke trail and find it. Moody did have A-10s for a couple of years in the later half of the 90s. One squadron, 70FS "White Knights".Know several guys that are going to be unemployed, no one had a clue this was coming.

That's what I hate most about BRACs. They take away very few things that need to be taken away and seemingly a bunch of things that don't make any sense to take away.

Case in point: Luke losing JSF training. All signs seemed to point towards the 56th becoming the home of JSF training. Now, it looks like it will either be the 33rd FW, or they will stand up an AETC wing at Eglin. Rolling Eyes

This is always the worst time for the military, but most especially for the civilians on the bases.

BattleAx,

I don't know if you still read these forums, but [Link pending approval]

I don't know any NON-rated NON-pilot selects that are going to ASBC in June. As far as I know, the entire class is going to pilot training afterwards.
