I was wondering if anyone is a member of the 177th AC F-16 Guard unit in NJ. Me and a friend of mine are member of the 111th A-10 out of Willow Grove, PA. We are thinking of transfering down to the 177th. We are both prior F-16 Crew chiefs and the A-10 is boring the hell out of us. My question is how do you like it there? Good peole to work with? Let me know.

Im with the 177FW Ive been there since 96 with no complaints. The people are good. I know some Crew Chiefs they dont seem to have to many problems. All in all my experience has been good there.

John,
Thanks! Sounds like a pretty good crew down there. Are you guys having any ORE's or ORI's coming up lately?

Last I heard we are in the clear till 06 but as you know that can always change. You looking to miss out on all the fun of a ORE/ORI? When I got here in 96 I hit both the ORE/ORI talk about bad timing. We have the Block 25 down here in AC if you were wondering what we have. I hope this helps you out.

Yeah right now we are going through the ORE stage till next year when our ORI comes up. More than likely I'm going to transfer just have to make sure I can without loosing the enlistment bonus money. How long would it take to get from Willow grove to AC guard? one hour??
once again thanks!

It probably takes about 2 hours to get from the Grove to AC maybe shorter or longer depending on traffic. Because you live out side the communting distance the unit will put you up in a Hotel for the UTA.

The BRAC recommends that we convert to F-15s. Want to learn more go to the Air Force web page, on right side hit BRAC 2005 just click on a state to find out if anything is going to happen there.
