The pilot ejected safely and was flown back to Nellis. An investigation is ongoing.

I'm glad the driver's ok, and the life support and egress equipment all worked as advertised.
Let's take a quick recap shall we?
1) An F-22 in November
2) The Thunderbirds have two quick non-life threatening mishaps within a week or so
3) A Viper driver punched out last week
4) Now, an Eagle driver punched out today
If it weren't for bad luck...

What really struck me were the times:
F-16: FRIDAY, 18 Mar at 0834 hrs
F-15: FRIDAY, 25 Mar at 0835 hrs
very weird... |

Hey TC, just wanted to slightly correct your list of mishaps and add to it:
The Raptor actually crashed on 20 Dec 04
The November crash was a Navy F/A-18 (9 Nov 04)

In all seriousness, I'm glad the pilot's OK and I want to extend my deepest sympathies to all involved - I know what it was like to lose my Camaro IROC-Z to a crash and I can't imagine what it would be like to lose a jet like that  . |

Thank you for the correction. Didn't hear about the Hornet mishap. Did the guy(s) get out?
So far, we haven't run out of luck. It's always terrible when we lose one, but at least these guys have all made it.
Rampage, I guess I didn't hear about Luke's bad luck string either. Was Luke flying Phantoms, Eagles, or Vipers at the time? <---I have a feeling I already know the answer to this question, but I'll ask it anyhow.

Yep, TC, the F/A-18 pilot got out OK.
He went down about 15 miles north of Nellis on the northeast side of Las Vegas. The pilot, based at Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach, VA, was attending the Air Force Weapons School. (source: AP) |

Pratt & Shittney.  ROFLMAO!!! I love it. I'll have to remember that for future reference. 
Yeah, the only guys I that I know personally, who have punched out of a Viper all bailed out of "Pratt & Shittney" powered Vipers.
Just remember:
P&W = Plenty of Work
GE = Good Engine
GE engines rule!
Glad to hear the Hornet driver punched out and made it. In that area of Nevada, the only thing he harmed (well, other than the jet) was just a bunch of scrub brush and Joshua trees! :p
