How do you think which of them is better? Both are the "cheap" fighters produced by USA and USSR for poorer countries. I think F-5 has better radar system while MiG has bigger speed. I also think that they are quite comparable.
What do you think..?

I think not, but for example F-16A and MiG-29A also haven't ever faced and, we compare them. Both were cheap fighters for poor countries - so they could have fought - but FORTUNATELY they haven't..

None of the different versions of the F-5 and the MiG-21 face deah other in combat, more info?
there was an issue of AFM that had a 3-page article dedicated to the comparison between both aircraft, I'll check my personal "archives", and of course guess who's better? |

What do you call cheap? 50 Mill, 100 Mill or 250 Mill (f-22)
But remember that when we sell a fighter there is also support that goes with it. |

No, but the F-16C/D and the MiG-29 have met in combat. All engaments won by the F-16 so far. |

| I think, in terms of radar, the F-5 is definitely better. |

Hi, sorry if this is a repost, folks. I'm new here.
Here's a short clip of a documentary (in Russian) on the Soviet evaluation of ex-VNAF F-5Es on YouTube.
[Link pending approval];feature=related
Also, here's more info from another forum, FWIW:
[Link pending approval]
"One F-5 was extensively tested by top gun Soviet pilots from Chkalov's State Flight Tests Center (GLIC - Russian acronym). GLIC was established in the 1920s in the arid delta of the Volga River and its tributary Akhtuba and a local counterpart of US Edwards AFB AFFTC or Tonopah Test [Link pending approval];
"In air combats with MiG-21, F-5 did show extremely well, surprisingly winning almost of all fights according to reports ..." |
