| I'm one of the "lucky" ones who took the SAT yesterday and I know it has "no effect on the rest of my life" but will the Air Force look at my scores when I enlist? |

1) Yes, they most likely will request you provide a copy of your scores.
2) If you are planning on college, then it is a semi-important test, and should prolly be given its due attention.
3) This thread should probably be posted under "Off-Topic"
4) To get more replies/views, i would recommend naming the thread a little more specifically then "i have a question" etc.
good luck,

This "sarcastic teenager" doesn't look like Air Force material from what I see...
and don't kid yourself buddy: as much as you want to discount the SAT, it does clearly have the potential to affect the rest of your life. |

Prior to enlisting in the USAF (1982), I never even took the SATs, not sure if recruiters look at the results these days, I don't think they do. Need the HS diploma for enlisting.
To be honest, not sure that SATS affect the rest of your life, if you want to get in college, you need the score the school of your choice requires, and once in school why would the SAT even matter? To this day, I have never taken the SAT, I retired from the USAF, while in got my degree, and pursuing additional education today. So, in my case, the fact that I never took the SAT had no negative impact on my life. |

Yeah I know that this test determines the rest of my life and what I'll be doing, that's why I don't like it or the idea of it. To sum up the rest of someone's life with just numbers from one test is not right. Don't mistake my sarcasim for me not knowing how important it is.
And yeah I wanna' go AF. I'm just a pupil of the fight the power and buck the system people like the Fighter Mafia guys, it was just the way I was raised. |

I remember taking the SATs You had to take writing this year didnt you? Bet that sucked! Anyways, not like them as you may they are still there so I hope you gave them your best shot unlike me. I remember I had to take mine the first day of summer break. It ate me up all last quarter but I was glad I did it because some people wasted their entire summer studying for a fall date. Actually, I dont know what that has to do with me at all. I didnt study and went to a party the night before. I got a 1305. I thought the ACT was easier but only got a 27. It was a good offset to my terrible GPA so if you slacked your whole HS career like I did then you make consider retaking them and seriously.
If you want to go to the AFA btw I think 1300 is a bear minimum. Also, 1200's and good GPAs are good for first year ROTC scholarships if you want one of those.
