Well, this is my first topic I'm opening ever.
Due to some problems I'm having in uploading pictures to the gallery I'm posting these pictures here. Stefaan, Lieven and Bjorn: It will very appreciated if you would put these in the photo gallery. (These pictures taken from "Maariv" newspaper)
The first F-16I before it's roll-out ceremony.
On the right-top corner it says in Hebrew "the reveal of the Sufa"

Hey hpman,
Do you mean the LMTAS construction number is YD-04, and if so, do you have more info on the 'numbers' subject. Or anyone else off course.

This is Lockheed Martin Serial: YD-004.
The Israeli tail number is like the sqd number: 253.
Most of the aircraft tail numbers will be 4xx. |

The F-16I "Sufa" means "Storm" in English.
Also:
F-16A/B "Netz" -> "Hawk"
F-16C/D "Barak" -> "Lighting" |

Don't forget the F-15I "Ra'am" (Thunder) and the F-22 was called in the begining "Lightning II". |

Thanks for the picture, DeepSpace.
Great new comer to the IAF inventory!! Is she powered by GE-129 engine? The 600s, LANTIRN and now the additional CFT should be a great burden to the powerplant. By the way, is that a LiteningII?
cheers,  |

No. The F-22 project was once called "Lightning II".
BTW, now I just saw in the local TV news a news report about the F-16I. There were some videos that proving what Lockheed Martin has claimed all the time. The CFT didn't effect the maneuvering at all. They also said that after the recieving of all the 102 "Sufa"'s the IAF will be one of the largest air-forces in the world, even from the one of the UK. I think it's pretty amazing for a small country like Israel, don't you think so too? |

Schweet!
I see a conversion coming soon, hee hee...
I hope to make a model of every Israeli F-16: Netz, Barak, Brakeet, and now Sufa. |
