Would’t you say both like F-35I “Adir” in the way they currently refer to their jets:
F-15 A/B/C/D “Baz”
F-15I “Ra’am”
F-16A/B “Netz”
F-16C/D “Barak”
F-16I “Sufa”

F-15 A/B/C/D “Baz”
F-15I “Ra’am”
F-16A/B “Netz”
F-16C/D “Barak”
F-16I “Sufa”

The early fighters (F-16A/B, F-15C/D) got birds of prey names (Netz=Hawk, Baz=Falcon)
The late fighters (F-16C/D/i, F-15i) got Natural phenomenon names (Barack=Lightning, Ra'am=Thunder, Sufa=Storm)
But ADIR? what they were thinking.......
Although proper meaning it sounds not right

Do we just happen to reserve the "i" model lettering for Israel, or is it more of a coincidence?
'i' stands for it being even more intelligent with all the Israeli modifications, than your average F-35.

Jet’s name is just plane ‘Awesome’ 18 Apr 2013 Aaron Kalman

"The F-35 Joint Strike Fighter is not only one of the most advanced fighter jets in the world — it now has a Hebrew name, and it’s literally awesome.
On Wednesday, the Israeli Air Force christened the plane Adir, which in modern Hebrew denotes awesomeness, radness and all-around cool (the dictionary definition is a bit more sober).
While Israel’s first F-35 squadron is slated to arrive in 2017, the army has started to prepare for it — readying structures and runways, and training technical crews and pilots — and thus needed to give it a Hebrew moniker.
The name was chosen from among more than 1,700 suggestions handed in by IAF soldiers and people from the defense industry. Naming the jet Adir reflects its capabilities and emphasizes the upgrade it will provide to the air force’s capabilities, the IAF said in a statement...."

It would indeed be awesome if block 3F software is complete by 2017 arrival date?
Hard to believe too, that as recently as 2007/2008, partners were originally expecting and scheduling into their requirements an actually affordable, truly next-gen 'networked' block IV F-35, being delivered in 2017.

The Super-Viper has not yet begun to concede.

Have you mentioned how you are unhappy with F-35 scheduling and price lately?
