This has implications for the F/A-50 program. It's quite possible that a RACR derived radar will be put in the F/A-50, without violating the contract with Lockheed that the F/A-50 doesn't have a better radar than the KF-16s. The earlier APG-79 radar, which preceded the RACR, preforms quite well in combat conditions, although the it had teething problems early on, especially in the EA-18.

Next, it will be interesting to see what USAF finally selects (and when) as their own modernized F-16 radar upgrade, to carry F-16s into the next decade as a continued mainstay of credible USAF TACAIR force structure.

BAE Systems started the the upgrades on the first two of 134 KF-16 C/D block 52 aircraft operated by South Korea. A single-seat F-16C and twin-seat F-16D recently arrived at BAE’s facility at Alliance Airport in Fort Worth, Texas.
