A nice PA story about the "hard working" civilians at the depot who don't get airplanes out on time, have raised their rates so high the Air Force can't afford to do necessary mods, and in the past didn't perform a necessary test but signed off that they did--result a crashed viper on it's FCF. Hopefully they'll actually do the tests they need to do before the jets fly again. When the Air Force runs out of money to CCIP the block 40s, ask the civilians how much they are making an hour.

Hey, back off of the civilian workers a little bit. Blame the federal gov't if you want to, they're the ones who turned the once federal jobs into contract jobs. You don't have the same buy-in working for a contractor as you do as a civil service employee. There is also more turnover than there used to be when it was a federal job. I worked for a govt. contractor once, sure the pay was good but you never did know when they would lose the contract. Result, I took the first full-time position I could in my ANG unit. So let it go back to Govt. work and let the people worry about doing their job instead of worrying if they'll have a job next year.
