I've been reading several articles about AMC looking at EFB use (http://www.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123283385, http://www.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123309969).
EFBs are already being implemented in commercial aviation (http://www.cnn.com/2012/09/14/travel/ipads-in-airline-cockpits/index.html?hpt=hp_bn10), but how would that work trying to store an iPad or similar in a Viper cockpit as far as limited space (and more importantly, high-G maneuvers?). Is an EFB even feasible in a high-G environment? |

The RNLAF is using Ipads in a similar way. It is feasible, even in the F-16
Source (in Dutch, unfortunately)
The Ipads are used to view digital maps of the terrain they are flying over, mainly during operations in Afghanistan. |

I'm assuming that it's secured in a modified kneeboard? Otherwise, with any aggressive maneuvering, it would likely smack you in the cranium...ouch!
And I seriously wouldn't want to be "Puke's" wingman... |

| Might be an issue during ejection. Any other Viper pilots have anything to add? |
