Why would you want Israel to have the F-35? So that they can more quickly and easily drag us into regional wars? The Saudis have no interest in competing directly with Israel, if that were so, they would have already bought nuclear weapons. |

No. It's because Israel is where we'd rather spend a Saturday night. That's what American diplomacy pretty much boils down to; and if you ask me, it's a damn-good rule of thumb.  |

Does this rule apply to more than foreign countries?
