Lockheed Martin currently has numerous openings available for Structural Aircraft Mechanics in Lexington, KY.

The Aircraft Structural Mechanic 1 (1 to 3 years experience preferred) is required to perform airframe modifications in accordance with technical drawings and applicable aircraft maintenance manuals.

Additionally, may be required to perform repair or refurbishment operations of aircraft structures, skins assemblies, composite fairings and parts/components related to same. The structural mechanic performs the aforementioned tasks with hand and pneumatic tools such as shears, punches, rivet squeezers, machinist’s scales, machinist’s dividers, calipers, scribes, cleco’s, various pliers, mallets, hammers, rivet guns, die grinders, drills, etc. Required to be able to read & understand complex technical drawings and work instructions from aircraft manufacturers and local departmental engineering authorities. Required to be able to properly identify, install and remove various fasteners such as screws, nuts, bolts, nut plates, riv-nuts, solid rivets, blind rivets, Hi-Locs, Jo-Bolts, etc.

Qualified candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance (which Lockheed Martin will work to obtain) and be familiar with FAA and/or DoD Aviation Maintenance practices.

Candidate must be able to work 1st or 2nd shift as required by program schedule and customer requirements. Travel may be required. Previous structural experience with UH/MH060 Blackhawks, Airframe & Power Plant Certifications, is preferred but not required. All tools are provided by the contract.

“Some” relocation assistance may be offered with these positions.

The rate of pay for these positions is fixed by the US Government at $23.53/hr.
