| So now that Obama has been re elected, what does this mean for the F-35 program? Will production continue, increase, decrease? Is this program on the chopping block? Will it be severely de funded? Will the 400 people who were given job offers for the production line in August and September and are waiting for a start date still be hired? Anybody have some ideas? |

Nothing special, a continuation of the project like the past.
Will production continue, increase,decrease?
Continue
Is this program on the chopping block?
No
Will it be severely de funded?
No
Will the 400 people who were given job offers for the production line in August and September and are waiting for a start date still be hired?
Yes
Anybody have some ideas?
Yes, rather strange to expect a radical change in policy after a re-election of the president. Your question would have made more sense if Obama was not re elected. |

Can't tell yet, automatic cuts are still to be decided:

Regardless of what illegal* deals were made by the DoLabor to keep mass WARN Act layoff notices from going out last week. It would be irresponsible of LM to hire 400 people when they might very well turn around and lay them off in 2+ months.
*Yes, the DoL saying don't send out WARN notices because we will protect you from lawsuits is illegal. WARN Act is the law, it is a direct violation of the law (thus illegal) to tell LM not to follow the law because it would be inconvient to have hundreds of thousands of layoff notices go out a week before the election across the Defense Sector.
What should have been done is that Congress and the White House should have gotten off their lazy duffs and explain how sequestration will be implamented. Then the Defense Sector could have properly prepared for it. Thus no mass layoff notices. That would have been the legal and proper way to do it. As opposed to the corrupt mob-like Chicago style politics way it was done.
Sorry for the rant, and no, this is not a frustrated respons to the election outcome. I was ticked about all this before the election, it was wrong no matter who won.

Yeah, and he immediately backtracked on that. |

Yeah, and he immediately backtracked on that.
I thought Pres. Obama was referring to "automatic cuts" (Sequestration) wouldn't happen, and he wishes to avoid that.
He didn't say there would not be defense cuts.
Edit: Grammatical error. |

You're right.. I was referring to sequestration and should have been more precise. |

The news reported in these links would seem to indicate that the administration was expecting automatic cuts (and that the government [taxpayers] would cover the cost of any workers filing a lawsuit).

| I realize this is political: Pres. Obama wishes to avoid Sequestration. The related issue of WARN act. notices, is part of the plan if sequestration occurs. He cannot "overrule" congress and make it go away. |
