| Air-to-air display or master mode; de-center, 80 mile scale; declutter level 2; heading 360 (may be true or mag); bullseye waypoint 12 bearing and range 118 for 73 nm; bearing and range to selected steerpoint, 155 for 98nm; nearest target in your shoot list is an SU-27. 338 for 37, 35.6K' at 1.3M giving you 1300+ kts Vc; colors are friendlies, hostiles, and unknowns; white outline is sensor primary field of regard in az at a given range; radar cursor shows el coverage 20k-60k at 60nm. Own-ship position is F22-looking thing toward bottom of display. Lines coming off symbols are typically direction of travel. Popsicles likely RWR. |

You know you've got a 5th gen sensor suite when you're tracking flying popsicles!
Lead: Do you have a visual on that target?
Wing: Roger. It's a popsicle.
Lead: What flavor?
Wing: Orange-sicle.
Lead: Good god!

That shows just how sensitive the IR sensors are. |

| I thought colors signified elevation, symbols signify friend-foe-unknown. |

Because that's what the pilot selected. |

Simple color distinction lends to intuitive discernment for the pilot. Though not shown on the display, surface and air targets are distinguished by unique symbols, and altitude is displayed in unambiguous fashion. |

| Max range cannot be determined by this display; display is set for 80 nm range but max range could in theory be more. The elevation range is 20-60 at the cursor location which is at 60 nm (halfway between the 40 and 80 nm rings). |
