Hallo all you Viper fixer out there.

Have an old blok 15 with Goodrich / RSL's ABC brake system.

Pilot's reporting poor braking action sometimes at 'normal' taxispeeds after landing.
It's reported two times in a 200 hours period. Brake assy 207 hours since new.

Symtoms are - normal braking at landing, and initial at backtrac, but at light braking to keep speed down, the left brake loose aprox 50% of brake performens, and makes squeling sound, or something like allmost pulsating braking action.
When speed are low eg manuvering around in sqd area no problems. Its only at what they say 'normal taxispeed'

Have two nice readouts on the dianostic system with no fail, and run all the brake test we can,- nothing wrong with the elektrical / hyd.

Hawe anyone out there expirenced something alike ?

I expect the phenomenon to be brake squel (searched on net), but none of our tecnical orders describes it, and what to do.

We swapped the brake assy lh to rh and oppesit, an looking fwd to see if the phenomenon changes sides Wink

If the braking issue didn’t move to the other side after the brake swap, I would have to suspect an intermittent hydraulic bypass within the brake control valve.

Did the swap today, and the jet will fly tomorow. It might go some flights before it happend again. Staticks says aprox 50 flights or so. Wink

Can't wait to see if the phenomenon changes to the righthand side. :-/

Gee, if only you had a Tech Rep or Engineering Staff that you could ask for assistance...oh wait, you do.
