"NAVAL AIR SYSTEMS COMMAND, PATUXENT RIVER, Md. – The carrier variant of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter flew for the first time with external weapons June 27. Navy test pilot Lt. Christopher Tabert flew CF-1 with inert AIM-9X Sidewinder air-to-air missiles on port and starboard pylons to measure flying qualities and aircraft vibrations...."

Nice to see they appear to be using the normal HGU-55/B as opposed to that blurry monstrosity.

Looks like the HMDS II to me (zoomed mo' zoomed attached) unlike the non apparent HGU-55/B.

USN/USMC often wear white HMDS IIs (for over water flights or as standard) it seems:
