Are there any pictures available online of an F-22 or F-35 with its gun door open? Firing or not firing, either way... I just want to get an idea of exactly what moves and where and how much gets exposed.

Doesn't the F-35 use a frangible cover over it's gun?

Interesting, didn't know the door was that small. I presume the M61 is pointed upwards several degrees? I had forgotten that fighters had their guns pointed slightly upward.

That's what I would assume. It would be logical, assuming an arcing trajectory. The last time I did a walkaround of a Raptor (002), the gun door was closed. The 'Winder bays were open, however.
