Anybody know of any F-16 jobs coming open. I'm currently in backshop at DM and have 16 experience from Korea line and phase.

Have you tried going over to the Reserve Side at DM? They are always looking for new Federal Employees.

I've looked into it but it's not really what I want. When I get out I want to be completely out. I've heard some good thinks about the contracts in the desert. That's where I want to be. Just need a little advice where to look.

Yeah I know. 75K a year jobs are a dime a dozen.

On searching for F-16 jobs theres only two places you need to look.

www.jsfirm.com

www.google.com

Man the average KSA job is 48K a year thats it. I don't know where your looking, but

The 75K jobs are with the Air Force Reserve here in the states.

Google " Air Reserve technician "

The ART program is darn good. My brother has been part of it for nearly 25 years. He's a GS11 after deductions its not quite 75 but still darn good. Of course thats for someone that has not retired already and individual mst meet all physical requirements PT etc. Be deployable--oh yeah its just like being on active duty to a degree. Good deal though. Highly recommend it.

It can be much more than 75K. Depending on your location. And how much your unit deploys or goes TDY.

You count your civlian salary, overtime, comp time and annual bonus. Plus your regular military salary. Then throw in going TDY and Annual tours. Then add up your double and triple dipping.

Its almost Active Duty. But you have a Union. Not a good one. But a Goverment Union.

Its good if your married. Great if your single.

Like I said he's a GS11 and its still not quite 75. Anyway the ART program is a good deal for the young stalwart who left after 16 years. Not so much for the older retiree. But our freind was referring to "desert jobs". In which case there are fewer and fewer so called dime a dozen 75K jobs here. This is where the rubber meets the road. Thats all

I was just refering to the comment about working in the giant kitty litter box for 48K.

And that you can make double that here in the states. With so many opening that some reserve units give out a sign on bonus. Of a half years worth of pay.

The 162nd ANG at the Tucson airport has openings. You get Civil Service pay plus military reserve pay on weekends...plus an additional 15 days of double dipping. WG-13's in AIS and GS-11 in QA.

Every Air Force Reserve and Air Guard unit has openings.

Just take a look at

www.usajobs.gov

Pick any aircraft maintenance field.

The reason is no one wants to be on Active Duty. And not get Active Duty pay, retirement and benifits.
