Hey everyone, happy holidays! I have a question for the guardsmen out there. What kinds of careers to the guard pilots have? Any teachers out there? How well do you feel your career fits with your role as a guard pilot?

Thanks,
~mix

I'm from the maintenance side but know that most pilots fly for the airlines. We've had farmers, lawyers, doctors, accountants, and outfitters in our unit. Most pilots are prior active duty with the Air Force, Navy, and Marines with multiple types of aircraft flown.

Have a great day.........Chickenlegs

A few of the guys in central new york with the 174th were farmers. Youve got some businessmen and such. The part timer f-16 community has a kind of racket going with south west airlines. (it's something like 50% or more of southwest pilots are also part timer viper drivers in the guard...)

really? So southwest is a good place to look.... I've been wondering what major airlines I should look into for getting a job, I want to fly f-16's in the guard and fly commercially... so that'd be cool if SW allows that
