Hi guys,

was wondering, what does "HAVE" in so many military designations mean? We have HAVE NAP, HAVE LITE, HAVE QUICK etc.

A search from google returned this acronym definition. And AFSC is Air Force Specialty Code?

Is the above mentioned clearly defines "HAVE" or there are more of it? Shocked

thanks,

I had this in another thread, titled "Aviation Terminology" and here's the link: <a href="f-16_forum_viewtopic-t-1636.html">Aviation Terminology</a>

We went through the meanings of Have and Pave. Yes, AFSC is Air Force Specialty Code, or more appropriately, specifically what you do in the USAF. Every different job in the USAF has their own Specialty Code, and it sounds silly, but we actually do have AFSCs set aside even for military prisoners! Shocked We like to be thorough...BTW, AFSC also used to stand for Air Force Systems Command, which was what formerly handled all of the USAF's flight testing. It was headquartered at Andrews AFB, MD until they combined back in 92 or so with the Air Force Logisitics Command. AFLC was responsible for manpower, and cradle-to-grave aircraft maintenance, among other things, and the two MAJCOMs combined to form Air Force Materiel Command, and is HQ'd at Wright Patterson AFB, OH, the former home of AFLC, and they unfortunately adopted the former AFLC patch. That really sucked too, because AFSC had a much better looking patch. Who's with me on that one?

Beers and MiGs were made to be pounded!
