Bottom line is a lot of things can 'kill' a Raptor. Poor airmanship, missiles, guns, AAA, etc...

I am a F-22 'fanboy', but its because I know what they can do. Anyone can take ANY plane up in the air and subsequently get blown out of it.

The thing can carry the same number of A2A missiles as a -15 internally...not to mention if you hung four -120's on its wings...

I love it... Wink

Well if they (Chinese) survive the merge, it means the other guys (F22s) didn't and I'm kinda puzzled how is that possible since Chinese don't have JHMCS+Aim9X (which is the only thing that can kill F22)?

That's not what it means at all. It means that if the J-20 survived BVR shots, and got to within visual range, and got into a similar position, that the briefer was alluding to, then they might also have a chance. Don't be obtuse here. He's not saying that the AIM-9X w/ JHMCS is the only combination that is capable of killing an F-22.

That is the beauty of the F-22, this 30:1 kill ratio is in the merge. It is reported that the Raptor can be just as lethal from beyond visual range, acting as an AWACS. Guiding forward assets to targets and being able to engage and disengage at will.

And that's without the HMS and AIM-9X. Imagine how much more lethal the Raptor would be with helmet cuing and a HOBS missile. Might be something more like 60:1 .

If this kill ratio holds up, +/-?, is astonishing enough, but add these upgrades HMS, HOBS, check arrays, weight savings, better engines, ETC. (WOW & wow spelled backwards).

Imagine a near tier adversary with a 200/300 current & advanced frontline AC. F-22 dominate the skies at a 30:1 ratio, it would not be to long before the red air is anihilated or stays home. If the F-22 has F-22-lite adversaries, and lets say the kill ratio is 15:1 (outstanding) or 5-10:1 (pretty good)

I'll give the Russian and Chinese credit for building an airframe but the rest has to be proved. They can improve speed and stealth by having internal weapons bay, but there is alot more of the equation to solve.

I wonder what the kill ratio was when the F-15/16 were introduced against legacy F-4?
