How can I tell how close to me the closest flight school might be, and how much time and money does getting a license usually take? And how many different classes of license are there? (Are there separate licenses for different airplane sizes?)

Also, once you have a license, what kinds of jobs are you most likely to get? When I was a forester, I rode in some tiny 4-seat planes from a pretty small airport, to check the spread of wildfires or tree-killing insect infestations. But what else is done with small planes & ports like that? Giving rides to the local rush-hour traffic reporters? Giving tourists an aerial view? And what fraction of civilian pilots are doing that work instead of bigger planes on cargo/passenger routes? (I presume the latter is what most civilian pilots do; is that right?) And what other categories are there and how many pilots do them too? I'd be most interested in search & rescue, but is the job market full of guys who wanted to do that and ended up in shipping because there were too few of those jobs and too many people applying for them? (It might not matter in my case anyway if the Coast Guard has an age limit like the Army, Air Force, and Navy, and Marines do.)

I'm gaining my hours in a Cessna 172. And planning to apply for emirates airlines in the future once I graduate from high school and enter then finish the ATP flight school to get my certifications. Here check them out. The link is below and their might be a campus in your area Smile. And mind you the school I gained my first hours in was a small school called Moyer aviation which is based in Pennsylvania.
