One of my favorite pics shows that the F-35B is not so dangerous as recent reports have claimed "dangerous to personnel within 75 on deck.

An 'Admirable' accompanied the chap at that bow point to see what was going on also - they are both still with us apparently. Very Happy Good screenshot - some great 'slow' details in that video.

Well there is a "trap" video for the plane in the screen shot . . . although it is a "verticle trap" . . . so I guess it is not really a "trap." Just a nice deck landing minus the hard impact associated with most carrier aviation.

Yeah, I was surprised by that too. According to BS they should have looked like Sarah Connor grabbing a chainlink fence. Laughing

The guy approaching the aircraft in a vertical landing mode should have been blown clear of the deck as well if the 'doom-gloom' reports were true.

Looks like he was catching a breeze in the video, but kept advancing on the aircraft until well after the engine was throttled back.

We see the effect of breeze - usually the WOD Wind Over Deck - which can be quite fierce; depending on requirements or conditions at the time. The 'First Deck Landing F-35B / USS Wasp' thread has a few examples of the lack of concern of flight deck personnel. The F-35B conditions were likened to the Harrier deck environment. Along with the 'bowman' pic one of my faves from this thread on this page:

I was being sarcastic. Laughing Going by Bill Sweetman's prognostications I'd have expected the ground crew to burst into flame.
