Racer,
I thought Incirlik was a pit the first time I went there. After more than a few trips elsewhere in the region I finally realized that it was a resort. Give some of the guys an opportunity to go to some of the places I've been, they would never complain about Incirlik. We were supposed to relieve you in 2003 put they decided they needed us somewhere else. Did you guys fly any during OIF? I loved to shop in the Alley. Are Mike, Ike and Fred still around. I was ADVON in 2000 relieving your unit then as well.

ChickenLegs,
Mike is still a Flight Chief,Ike is retiring I believe at the end of the month(unless he changed his mind),and Fred retired about two years ago.I liked the "Alley" also, always ate at the Starlight after shift or had a beer at the the Falcon Bar and talked to Joe Montana. The Turks wouldn't let us fly any OIF missions when the war started, our jets sat in the HAS's for over a month,we did manage to get a couple of local sorties in for our pilots to keep current though.
I was sent over as a crew chief even though I was assigned to MOC at the time,it was my last hurrah as a crew chief,I crewed a excellent South Dakota bird while I was there and had a good time.I retired from the Guard in June and enjoying being a civilian now,but I still go out and drink coffee with the guys in the mornings sometimes after work or go out on drill weekends and make the rounds.I hit the Historians office on a regular basis to rumage thru the files for researching possible decal sheets plus to give the Historian pics I have taken over the years for his files.

KarimAbdoun,

The F-5s you see on the photographa belong to the Turkish aerial demonstration team, called the "Turkish Stars".

VYPRFXR, RacerCrewChief, chickenlegs,

Thanks for sharing the photoraphs and memories!
