Could someone tell about the various sensor blisters protruding from israel's latest f-16I. I'm especially interested in knowing about the protruderances on either sides of the nose just aft of the radome. Are they IR sensors or a part of the MAWS. Confused

Hi.

These are part of the advanced RWR system, or as you called it, MAWS.

OPSEC people...OPSEC. In my day RWR/RAW was considered highly classified (I needed a clearance just to open the safe we kept the disk pack in and when it was spinning and integrated, the sim bay was locked down). Public info cleared by the IAF is great. Generalities are OK. But if we have knowledge of actual system ops, keep it zip-lipped until the IAF says otherwise, please. Wink

raider, I'll post F-16I details right after you post your SSN, bank account and credit card numbers. You don't want those publicized any more than Israel does their aircraft details. Hope you understand.

How about the Make/Model/Color of his car, the plate number, his insurance company, who he works for, how much he makes per year........

I would suggest a subscription to Jane's....... If you want answers THAT bad, I'm sure the $1000+ will be well worth it....

Actually, New South wales state library in Sydney has all the Jane's books, internatinal defence review, jdw, and others, that are available to the public and I research continuously. It is great and cheap to photocopy too!

I was brought up the old fashioned way, you go to the library to do research. Most of the information I get is from the printed media.

Internet is great for some things. I see them as complementary, not exclusive. If you do not find it on the internet it does not mean it does not exist or is not available. One just has to dig deeper. I am lucky to live in a country where those books are purchased for the public to use.

There are a number of "F-16" books available, I have a list of reference books on my website and I'm sure it is not complete, in fact I added two more books just last week.

Habu2:
That is a great list, and fortunately I think I have most of them.
I will see if I can find some not in your list and scan the covers if you are interested.
