Salute all!
I realize that this is one of the best international forums on the planet.
That being said............, I shall throw the politics out the window!
There many folks from many countries present here. And although only the U.S. has formally declared this day "Veteran's Day", I propose that we toast all vets from all countries.
The Vets of all countries did their duty and deserve respect from their countrymen and from we other vets from other countries. I shall gladly raise a mug with my enemies from so long ago. We did our best, they did their best, and the politicians can sort out what the results were.
I quote from a neat anthem that applies to all aviators:
"Here's a toast to the host of those who love the vastness of the sky,
To a friend we will send the message of his brother men who fly.
We drink to those who gave their all of old,
Then down we roar to score the rainbow's pot of gold.
A toast to host of the men we boast, ........."

I would like to be the first to join Gums in the toast to the Veterans fo the World.
If only the politicians of the world had as much respect for each other...........
The politician is the only thing more dangerous to a Veteran than the emeny's weapons...........
So from one Vet to all the others of the world.......... Cheers! |
