The F/A-22 can shoot them all down before they even see it on the radar.....Saw one F-22 take off from Nellis, shot down an F-16 in Southern California....

They may not see the A/F-22 on their radar, but if an AMRAAM is heading their way it has to go active at some stage and Viper pilots are not going to react calmly to that threat. To fire more than one AMRAAM I assume the A/F-22 must activate its radar to guide them to each of the targets, so that will give him away as well. At this stage there is going to be a few moments of pure panic and confusion, while trying to avoid the incomings. Depending on how many manages to avoid the missiles they may then go on the offensive.

it also depends on the F/A-22's radar capability, how many targets it can simultaneously guide the AMRAAMs to....if it is able to track, say 2, 4 or maybe 8 targets simultaneous and provide guidance of AMRAAM to these targets seperately, then its very unlikely the F-16s can survive..

From the experience of our pilots with the F22..........I'd take one F22. But mind you, it's still not a multi-role fighter like the F-16.

The Better plane does not have ti wipe out the whole flight of 4.

Jusz kill one or two while minimizing risk and repeating this a few days in a row and soon no lesser fighters will be left.

It will track alot more than 8 targets.

but can it provide simultaneous guidance to all 8 targets? all mere tracking? The F-16's radar can also do tracking in TWS mode, but may not guide as many missiles at the same time.

It can track either 12 or 16 targets in the shootlist, I cant remember exactly. Yes, it can provide simultaneous guidance to all 8 of its missiles (6 AMRAAMs and 2 AIM-9s) and guidance for his wingman's missiles, provided his wingman has designated those as Next To Shoot.

The F/A-22's radar is manufactured in a way, still confidential, by which the Raptor could send signals of radar without being detected be enemy radar, F-16 is no exception.

Negative. With the EMCON (emission control) switch in active, radar transmits and is detectable just like any other aircraft.

My guess is :
As long as the F-22 can stay undetected, it's got a good shot...
If the F-16's manage to pick him up on radar and trance him, in a dogfight it might be tricky for the Raptor to stay alive, altough I think the vipers will have 1 or more losses...

Best way is to put them up there and see who wins Smile

If you want to understand more about how the F-22 (and F-16E/F Block 60 and B-1B and the latest F-15Cs...) radar works, do a google search on ESA and/or AESA radars.

Can really one F/A-22 win vs four F-16...? I don't think so...'cause the F/A-22 have to use his radar to shoot down th F-16, so it can be detectable...and maybe the other four can shoot down the F/A-22...if they carry the AIM-120 AMRAAM...

Are you sure than the F/A-22 can survive...? Question

Not true. Just because the Raptor pops his radar on, doesnt mean a 16 can lock him. The Raptor would just show up on the 16's RWR scope. Chances are the 16 still couldnt target him with the FCR.

Personally from past experiance, I'd have to say that the Raptor would destroy them in less than 3 minutes.
