Okay, I surrender. As I said, I was curious to see how the fanboys would respond. And now I know--willing to merge a logical fallacy with an endless supply of more logical fallacies, willing to merge a cognitive distortion with an endless supply of more cognitive distortions. (and when those are pointed out, insult and sarcasm are used as a last resort.) It's undeniable irony, but the F-35 may not survive without an endless supply of logical fallacies and an endless supply of cognitive distortions.

Good luck with that--this forum is read by policy makers--and when the fanboys stock in trade is logical fallacy, cognitive distortion, insults and sarcasm, well, that's very telling.

One interesting thing about his posts, he seems to have caused much more agreement between participants here than I think I've seen in a long time, just probably not in quite the way he had hoped to!

I'm missing a connection here. Those who don't think Turkey intends to betray us, and thus it's fine to sell F-35s there, are referred to as "fan(boy)s". Fans of what? The Turkish armed forces?

But the most important thing is to kick Turkey out of NATO to give despair to the "Western" faction and encourage the "Radical" faction, right?

Yeah, I was just about to comment that there is no lack of F-35 critics on this forum but his allegations were something else completely.

TURKEY NEGOTIATES F-35 FLIGHT CODES PURCHASE WITH U.S. January 14, 2012

"Turkey and the United States are negotiating over flight codes for the two F-35 warplanes that Turkey plans to buy from the U.S. in 2015 as well as any future purchases.

"When it comes to the plane's software, we aren't talking about purchasing all the codes, but just those that are the most essential for the plane's freedom of operation. These are the codes that we are interested in acquiring," Undersecretary of the Defense Industry Murad Bayar said in an interview with Anatolia news agency.

Bayar added that Turkey does not plan to purchase only two F-35 planes but will decide how many new planes to order each year in the Defense Industry Executive Committee.

"In the first stage we will train our pilots with these two F-35 planes. We will place our subsequent orders as the F-35 model develops and matures," said Bayar, who thinks there are currently a few glitches with the planes, which are being addressed.

Bayar did, however, hint that Turkey plans to buy 100 F-35 planes and is budgeting approximately $16 billion, Hurriyet Daily News reported."

Having been burned by American software that keeps them from IDing Israeli aircraft as enemy, I can see their point.

I think a more accurate description of the software would be that all coalition(to include Israel) aircraft/warships, are IFF'd as friendly. I'd hardly characterize it as having been burned by American software.
