I have to say, the F-35 is getting some pretty bad (and often undeserved, actually) press and the public perception of the program looks quite bad. Much of this has to do with a failure to actually read into the issue, but I though y'all would find this interesting. Just check out some of the comments on here. FYI, I am Porty1119 on YouTube and trying to introduce some sense into the idiot-fest.

Don't use youtube trolls as your cross section of "the public". Most people who make poor comments about aircraft don't do it because they've heard of the pro's and con's of the aircraft, they usually do it because they don't like America.

Videos like the one you linked are a haven for anti-US types who are looking for any ammunition they can get to depreciate US made military technology (Hence why the video features on the PowerRossiya youtube channel). For most of them its just tall poppy syndrome.

Youtube forums are uncensored so it attracts the lowest quality posters and intellects. Every one of them is going to express their nationalistic views without even attempting to learn their subject matter.

Petty people are jealous of other's success. Such is human nature. "Tall poppy syndrome." Had to look that one up. I like it.
