Hello,
I'd choose Tamiya's F-16C/N boxing
You get the heavy gear option + Bulged gear doors
The WAR hud is also included in the kit to build a Blk 42
The only problem with the C/N kit is the fact that it lacks GBUs "You can purchase the Hasegawa weapons sets to complete the loadout"
I'd also look into using Cross Delta stiffener plates "these are excellent"
Hope this helps?

Mike.

No problem Jeff!

Another route that you could take, Would be to buy the Tamiya F-16 ANG Blk 25/32 boxing "This way you get the GBU-12s And the LITENING II Targeting pod, Then find someone who will trade for the landing gear and the WAR hud
I built my last Tamiya C/N kit as an In flight build Blk 30 "As will be done for my next few 48 scale Viper builds!"

Take a look! http://zone-five.net/showthread.php?t=16874

I have alot of extra parts. So if you need anything, Email me at sheenanladuke@yahoo.com And I'll send them to you!

Good luck with your build!

Thanks alot Jeff!

I use some of Wolfpack's products. Their LITENING pod is pretty sweet! Are you referring to their Blk 40/42 upgrade set? I haven't used that set yet....Curious whats inside the little box myself! I know that you get the WAR hud with it though.
Thanks again Jeff and if you need anything let me know buddy!

Mike.

Remember that Toledo ANG's Block 42s aren't standard issue engines. (PW-220)

ANG upgraded it's Block 42s (Toledo/Tulsa) with PW-229s.

The PW-229 uses carbon-fiber external nozzle segments (aka - Turkey Feathers) and have different flame-holder and augmentor spray manifolds.

The original PW-220 used titanium alloy external nozzle segments.

When you get to painting or detailing your engine nozzle; use Block 52 photos and/or detail kits.

Jeff,

kit: Tamiya C/N has all the parts for block 42
decals: Afterburner Decals best out there
reference pictures: Jake Melampy; been on a shoot with him, best day ever
Toledo hints: all are -229 powered (replicate nozzle by painting rubber or black, or use carbon fiber decals), all have BLOS antenna except D-model, all have fairly fresh paint jobs and are kept clean

PM me if you need anything else, I have hundreds of reference pictures of their jets
