For those in the 'know'. how does an F-16 handle?
Specifically...
1. You roll the aircraft hard in one direction and then let go of the stick. Does the roll stop immediately, or does it take a second, or...?
2. How hard is it to get an F-16 to maintain +/-10ft altitude manually, in comparison to civilian aircraft without flight computers? What about the autopilot? In Falcon 4, the autopilot jerks the nose down and drops about 100 feet before leveling off upon activation, not sure why...
3. Does the F-16's flight computer ever pitch the aircraft on its own during normal maneuvers? I.e., you set up a descent at a constant airspeed... does the pitch move at all like an automatic delayed sluggish trim? Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but this annoys me sometimes in Falcon 4.
4. Are sideslips commonly performed during crosswind landings? I find these fairly difficult and odd-behaving in Falcon 4 compared to aircraft I've flown in real life.
Basically, I'd like to know if there are any quirks to the natural instability of the F-16 that cause it to handle significantly less accurate or more sluggish/delayed than civilian aircraft
As a side note to Falcon BMS 4.32 players: Can anyone tell me why the trim wheels arbitrarily alter between toggling on or only activating for the duration of the key strokes? I find it pretty counter-intuitive to experience a plethora of different reactions to the same keystroke.
Thanks, guys. |
