| Outstanding unit award with I think 8 or so devices. Each device means that is one additional for the same medal of a different occurance, the silver I think means they recived 4 or 5 I can't remember which. So they have been awarded that medal at least 8 or so times on differnt occasions. If you go to a medals site they appear there. |

| Oh, the Active duty Jets don't have those. We post those on our squadron signs or other places but not on the aircraft. Don't ask me why. |

Parrothead, do you happen to have a full photo of 85-404 of this year? It was the jet of a good friend of mine at Hahn Air Base in the 1980s!

9, silver is 5 and the bronze are 1, but you have to count the ribbon, no more than 4 devices at a time on a ribbon as well, my Unit (122nd FW) has 3 on the nose IIRC, 2 clusters, one ribbon. |

ParrotHead, I was one of the two CC'S there for the show. We were over at our booth selling stuff. Unless this was on Friday of the show, we made a little trip down to TJ for the day .
We needed the day off. We worked a 14 hr day on Thursday when we came in. On Saturday and Sunday we dropped the tape late in the day for show and tell. You must not have been around for that. Sorry we missed you. |

fifel144, no you didn't miss me, at least not on Sunday ! These pics of that marking were taken on Saturday. Check out these threads: Please help me identify this F-16 part and Writing inside the F-16 exhaust. I sure had fun filling up the memory on my digital camera !
I met several of the fine people from the Griffins and everyone really impressed me ! I'm actually wearing the squadron T-shirt I bought from you guys right now. It's the white one with the F-16 on the front with the CA flag and the Griffins' jet on the back. Getting to get up close to the jets and all was great! I meant what I said about those beers being well deserved, too! I hope you had fun down south of the border, TJ's a whole nother world!
I'm going to move heaven and earth to be at Miramar in 2005, even if I have to drive back to San Diego for it because I refuse to break my record of never missing an airshow there! Please give me a holler if you're going to be back down for it too, I'd love to meet and chat! Also, if you guys ever come out to Nellis, let me know and I'll do my best to make time to buy you a drink .
Also, please make sure to tell everyone I said thanks for such a great time at Miramar and also for doing such a great job serving our nation! |

We haven't been to Nellis since 99.We should be due to go soon. Hey you bought the shirt huh? The OPS guys use to have alot different shirts to choose from, wish they had more down there.
You have my jet on your back by the way. Yeah TJ was full of the standard enjoyment. Hopefully we will be back down there next year. San Diegos always a good trip. |

I have your jet on my shirt? That's way cool! I'll have to pick up another one when I see you guys again! I hope you guys get back down to Miramar and Nellis would be cool too.
The next time you go down to Mexico, you might want to check out Puerto Nuevo. It's just a little ways south of Rosarito on the toll road and the lobster is great, not to mention cheap! I've never had it the same way as they do it there. Slice it down the middle, deep fry it, then grill it. A rooftop view, margaritas or cervezas, and dinner all came to just over $30 for two!
Have fun! |
