Do naval aviators tend to be more proficient in BFM than their Air Force counterparts???
I just don't know where to start...
It's more about the pilot than the service...
It may be even more about the pilot than the airplane...
And NO. USAF aviators spend a great more training time on BFM than the USN. This is due to the tremendous amount of USN training devoted to takeoffs and landings on very small, moving landing surfaces.
But in the end, it is about the pilot, the superior Viper and Eagle compared to the Hornet or Turkey, and the amazing ability of USAF pilots to grasp and apply critical skill sets. |
