The ST A29 coming to an air base near you??

On a totally different note...

With regards to what this specific TADF inc outfit is doing, I'm starting to wonder if DoD should contemplate simply outsourcing CAS missions to privatized ops in the future??

CANCELED. With OEF is winding down in the next few years, it's time to focus on weapons that won't make the Chinese pi$$ themselves laughing. http://www.defensenews.com/story.php?i= ... &s=AIR

Current 'Phase II' funding requests have been 'rejected' by HAASC/SASC... but nothing is ever cancelled, right, it's just renamed and repackaged if required?

The article you post however doesn't mention anything about a particular Congressional 'focus' of capabilities, rather, it's likely more the popular trend to simply cut any new funding which to them seems whacky. Timing is probably key in this regard, to delay even 6 months for further attempts if still of interest. At least Embraer is not going out of business or their line closing down, which is a plus.

It is ironic however how sometimes a skillful Congress will fund items not required by the military and then reject items the mil requests...

In reality, even if OEF is thankfully winding down over the next year or two, there would be no reason for CENTCOM not to continue studying various light platform capabilities as part of the potential future mix of asymmetric capabilities? Will have to stay posted. imho
