Hi all, i need some help if you can give it, i am looking to start building the above in 1/32 model kit form. In stead of all the usual armaments i would like to build a version thant deals with the ECM/EW side of things.
I know F-16's can act alone but they also go out on sortee's as a pack or group, would it be fair to say in this case that one of the aircraft would be carrying more defensive equipement to protect the group. If this is the case what kind of equipment would the plane carry.
I have various pods etc but i do not want to put them all on if that is not the reality.

Any advise or references to this subject would be great.

Here is what i have,
AN/ALQ-184 ECM Pod
AN/ALE-50 Towed Decoys, 2 off.
AN/ALQ-131ECM Pod
AN/AAQ-14 LANTIRN, 2 off

The LANTIRN system is for targeting/nav only, not jamming. It's mounted on the chin station. I haven't seen ALE-50s on Vipers. I'd only use one of the ALQ-131/-184 pods. They're mounted on the centerline. These are self-protection pods, having one aircraft carry several won't accomplish all that much IIRC. All aircraft in a flight would typically carry one pod. Multiple pods would just be extra drag with no offensive or endurance benefit.

ALE-50's are used on Vipers - lately seen on both station 2/8 compared to only one in the past.

Standard Block 50 configuration, optimized for SEAD, is as follows:

Sta 1: Aim-120
Sta 2: Aim-120
Sta 3: AGM-88
Sta 4: 370 gal tank
Sta 5: ALQ-131 (USAFE), ALQ-184 (PACAF/ACC)
Sta 6: 370 gal tank
Sta 7: AGM-88
Sta 8: Aim-9x
Sta 9: Aim-120

Left chin: SNIPER / Lightening Pod
Right chin: HTS pod
