| I've been retired 11 years but if memory serves me right that is the GPS antennae and it is secured with screws. |

| Yes. It's the original version of the GPS antenna that came out around '88-ish. Dunno if it's still used or not. I see a couple of newer types of antennas in the picture. |

That was a GPS antenna when I worked on them. 88-0445 is a test bird at Edwards AFB. 88-0445 Orange indicates "test" equipment on the middle antenna and the two smaller ones.... who knows? You see a lot of off the wall stuff on test birds. I guy I worked with was stationed at Eglin AFB, Fl during the late 70's in the test wing and had a Cruise Missle strapped to the belly of his F-4 to test the missle's navigation system. |
