I cant find info anywhere and i know there are some Eagle guys in here. My question is about #1 and #9 pylon on the F-15 and why they are never used? The wing are set for two outer pylons. also does the E model have the wing pylon points??? |

I used to be an Eaglekeeper, but I can't tell you for sure why. I know we never ever ever used them, and the only time I ever saw them being used was on Boeing's Secret Squirrel Strike Eagle a long time ago. I took pictures of it, but was told to erase them right after I was done. I want to say it was a wing load reason, but I'm only speculating. I'll ask some buddies and see what I can find.
BTW, strikeeagle.com has been defunct for a while. |

| The proposal for F-15SE apparently includes activating the outside pylon stations. Perhaps any new-build F-15E+ class order could include a requirement to activate these stations? It would seem reasonable, as no reports seem to suggest the F-15SE main wing to be of new design. It would seem like a proper station point for loading something along the lines of a next-gen ALQ-218-type passive receiver set, or a missile warner pylon w/towed decoy? We'll have to wait and see. |

| Off my own topic but thought EF-111 would have made a great wild weasel to! Much better than EA-6B. |

Didn't they have them in Gulf war 1? They called it the "Sparkvark" or something I think. Or is that the EF-111? Raven, then Aardvark, then Sparkvark I think. |
