Here's a link to the JRB Fort Worth Fence Check page showing the same scheme on <a href="http://www.f-16.net/aircraft-database/F-16/airframe-profile/4462/">98-0004</a>, an OT bird.

They're either rolling this out to all of them, it's a test bird only scheme, or they're checking to see how closely we're watching. |

LockMart had a company Viper painted similarly as an F-35 paint testbed. This could be a continuation of that by the Viper test group at Eddie. Prolly evaluating RA characteristics, which is a good club to have in the bag.
And it gives the Viper a sinister look, dudn't it? . |

That is UUUUGGGLY!!!!
Only the Beagle, BUFF, and Bone look good in charcoal. It looks awful on the F-35 as well. I guess I'm just an old Hill II/wraparound SEA guy |

| I wonder if this is merely just a new paint scheme or whether this is actually some sort of attempt to apply a radar absorbing coating to the Viper? The F-16 has had the same basic scheme for basically its entire life. So why change now for merely cosmetic purposes? I wouldn't be surprised at all if this is actually being done to reduce the RCS of the Viper. |

| Half glass is a pretty sweet paint in my eyes. You just can't use aero clean and got to have booties on when on top but its still cool. I've also got to crew that jet a couple of times. |

| Since when is this C/S applied. Could it be May2011 already? Saw a much darker unidentified F-16 on the Edwards flightline by then. Thanks |
