Working with the F-16 I often see office codes like OO-ALC/xxxx, where xxxx seems like a random collection of letters. I understand OO-ALC means Ogden Air Logistics Center, but what is the significance of the xxxx letters? Is a organizational chart available, maybe?

Go to the link below for the Hill AFB Media Guide. It provides background behind the organizational structure of OO-ALC. Note the office symbols for most directorates are shorthand for the business function they provide, e.g., EN for engineering, FM for financial management, etc.

Hope this helps.

The XXXX is often referred to as an "office symbol". Usually, by the time an organizational chart is published, the various offices and organizations have undergone yet another re-org rendering the chart outdated.
