Hi there. I have a few queries that i hope bros here are able to enlighten me. Smile

1) During our launch for the F16, why do we throttle up when we see the FFP light flickers? (6 Green Light at the LOX panel). How does throttling up helps?

2) How does the Hydraulic Pump A & B works? Was told it was using a swashplate? Something like a Constant pressure Variable Flow pump?

Hope to hear from u guys soon. Thanks!

Throttling up changes the conditions of the pump's output. By increasing the demand from the engine both flow and pressure will change. The book says the light can flicker at "IDLE" but if you increase the throttle, and the light continues to blink, or goes completely out, there can be a problem.

Yes, it's a Variable Flow, Constant Pressure system. As there is an increase in demand for flow, the swashplate will pivot, allowing the pistons attached to have a longer stroke. As flow decreases the plate moves back towards neutral where the pistons have a short stroke. (See illustration & Link)

Hmm it would help in if any of u guys could explain the "how" and "why" we increase throttle. In terms of system wise? Wat will change if we change throttle settings etc?

Thanks!

System wise; I'd suggest you refer to the applicable Fuel System FI and GS.
