I hope this is the right place to be asking for help about this issue. I currently work at Luke AFB, Arizona phase and have a issue with the FCR waveguide cosmetics. There is tears on the outside of the waveguide however there is no damage to the inside what so ever. We currently have been putting black RTV on it, but we had issue with a QA (quality assurance) inspecter coming in and ripping it off the jet saying "this is not a correct [Link pending approval]; When we ask him to show us a reference that it's not correct he blows us off. I have tried to look for such a reference and called AFETS to try help us and all they can find is about inside damage but nothing for cosmetics. So my question is if anyone knows what the reference for a fix on the FCR waveguide cosmetic work would you please help me out? Please and Thanks for your help it will be greatly appreciated.

Tell the AFETS guys to try a little harder...there are at least two Field Service Reports that deal with using RTV to repair the waveguide. Please PM me with your military e-mail address and I will provide the information.

Because the responses to these FSRs are somewhat dated, I would recommend that your AFETS guys write an FSR requesting updated information.
