ygbsm, please clarify your comment
"Don't forget it was a guard jet. They are notorious for covering the facts with this kind of gobblygook. We all know what happened."
I'm assuming you're not turning this into a Air Guard vs. Active Duty issue.

sd2azang,

With regards to the comment from ygbsm, I couldn't agree with you more. Let's drop the old stereotype of the guard being a "flying club" and embrace the reality that the lines between AD and ANG are growing closer by the day. It is a completely ignorant statement to say "don't forget it was a guard [Link pending approval] all know what [Link pending approval]; Really? Is that's your logical conclusion - to blame it on the guard?

No clarification needed and you are the one putting up Air Guard vs Active Duty. There is no question that the Guard is made up of the good ole boy network. I have seen it my whole career and continue to see it. This AIB report is just the latest. I would hope even you can see the "gobblygook" of this reports findings. If not, I can't help you.

I can have a productive comparison on Air Guard and Active Duty that might appeal to objective minds. However, I doubt it would be worth it due to the emotion of the stakeholders.

Let me be clear (forgive the Obamaesk wordage), I only blame the AIB for such a lousy report. I attribute this to it being guard assets involved.

Just my opinion, but I have a feeling that the "root cause" of this incident was actually very similar to the one in Douglas Bader's Bristol Bulldog crash in 1931.

"Bad show."

Mr Spock would say he either was unwilling to stop(Human error), or was unable to stop(electro/mechanical/hydro). Will be an interesting AIB.

IIRC the last runway departure generated a TCTO/one-time inspection of the brake control valve wiring. Since this runway departure I have seen a -6 30 day canopy clean and polish? Canopy fogging was blamed on the Nellis A-10 gear up landing at Kelly AFB back in the 90's Shrug Must be an issue?

How does canopy fogging make you forget to put your gear down?
