I'm really wanting to get a serious fighter simulator like Falcon 4.0 but, alas, I have a Mac and not a PC. I realize that a Mac version of the game was made but read that it was very glitchy and prone to crashing. Would the PC version of Falcon 4.0 or lomac work on BootChamp? I'm running Windows XP. Any Mac users even out there who can help me? Why must Mac users have to suffer with X-plane as our only legitimate flight sim?
And please don't try to sell me on a PC...I'm NOT interested in buying a new computer solely for gaming and am completely satisfied with my Mac for everything else. |

| Yes, absolutely you may run Falcon 4.0 PC version on a Mac using a Bootcamp On an Intel based Mac the simulator runs smoothly as it were on a PC. There is no special tricks or how-to-dos for this. You should set up the bootcamp partition on your Mac's harddrive with a Windows version XP, Vista or 7. The rest is just like on a PC. |

| Thank you mgelevli! I'm assuming this would work with other sims as well including FSX? |

I tried it and it IS NOT working properly (Falcon 4.0 Allied Force). The menu seems okay but once I start a flight the program is crashing. I do not have my joystick yet but I'll be getting one soon. Could this be the reason for the problem? I have a fairly new and high end iMac (2.4 Intell Core 2 Duo with ATI, Radeon HD2600 and 256 MB VRAM). What gives?!? I'm about to return the game if the joystick doesn't resolve the problem. |

No...I haven't done that. Should this fix the problem? Let's hope the patch works. I'm kinda new to this stuff. |

I use Falcon 4 (Freefalcon) on Bootcamp and it works properly. I don't know if the problem is:
-The absence of Joystick (I remember I had some crashes and return to desktop with de Mac version running on Classic some years ago before the joystick was installed and set up)
-The version you have (I don't know if Falcon AF works like Falcon 4: Falcon AF succeded Falcon 4 but there are some code differences I think) or a lack of patches (original Falcon 4 was really bugged, and sometimes it was impossible to start a flight woithout immediate plane explosion and CTD)
Good luck and good Viper flights! |

AF was generally the most stable version - but obviously never intended to work on a Mac I guess - but was officially patched for Vista at least.
If you go into the graphics settings try changing video mode to just Direct 3D HAL |

I think someone heard your prayer:
Falcon4 Allied Force for Mac is available at Mac App Store for $19.
