Watching the news today I couldn't help but come to this [Link pending approval]

If we drop the 10 billion dollars in aid to Pakistan (3bills+) and other 3rd world armpits combined, we could have plenty to buy another 20+ F-22 Raptors a year, and also restart some much needed defense capabilities. I bet increasing our Intelligence and Special Ops capability with the rest of that money would provide a better outcome in the war against terror, than it does giving it to these 3rd world dictators.

Exactly!!!! Right on!!! Just handing Pakistan a massive wad of cash over the years hasn't yielded much in return.

Exactly!!!! Right on!!! Just handing Pakistan a massive wad of cash over the years hasn't yielded much in return.

We should snatch their nuclear program before we go though.

Maybe you should contact those guys flying F-15's against the F-22 in mach dogfights. Give them a few pointers... out of your extensive experience? Maybe those engineers and strategists who designed and built the Raptor should be informed that their brainchild product had a fatal flaw? Let's also make sure we don't have any enemy air bases or carriers which spawned miraculously on US soil... able to launch their fighters behind the Raptor's six o'clock and gun them down as you suggest.

Oh and let's just hope that enemy aircraft won't try and equip their fighters with high bypass engines for a low IR signature... otherwise they just MIGHT elude the sensors of say an F-35. Wouldn't want to be in that F-35 now, would we?

I also can not fathom regular fighters getting into position against an aware F-22 pilot, unless he was suffering from task overload, for a gun kill. Regarding high bypass engines, though, modern IRSTs can track on skin friction, especially at high subsonic and beyond.
